UPDATE (23/1/2019 10:03 AM): Chris Brown has been released without charge in Paris after being questioned on suspicion of rape, BBC News reports. According to French officials, Brown was released from police custody, along with two other who were not identified, without charge and is free to leave the country, but the investigation is ongoing.

The singer issued a statement on his Instagram account on Tuesday denying the accusations.

"I wanna make it perfectly clear ..... This is false and a whole lot of CAP!," he wrote in the all-caps message. "... For my daughter and my family this is so disrespectful and is against my character and morals!!!!"

Chris Brown might be in serious trouble as reports have surfaced that the R&B singer and two other people are in custody in Paris after a woman filed a rape complaint.

According to police officials, Brown and two other people, one said to be Brown’s bodyguard, were arrested after a 24-year-old woman alleged she was raped at Brown’s hotel suite on the night of January 15. The woman is said to have followed the singer to his hotel room where the incident allegedly occurred.

Brown was detained on Monday (Jan 21) and is currently still in custody while police study the complaint. Brown has faced legal trouble in the past. He pleaded guilty to the felony assault in 2009 of his then-girlfriend, Rihanna. He completed his probation in that case in 2015.

We will keep you posted as the story develops.
