Serving as GQ’s latest cover star, music mogul Diddy opens up in a new way for the exclusive interview – detailing plans to develop an app to celebrate “black excellence”, his secret project with JAY-Z, his current favourite artists, as well as the death of Biggie Smalls 20 years on.

Check out highlights from the interview below…

On wanting to develop an app that empowers black communities

“This is not about taking away from any other community.”

“We’ll still go to Chinatown. We’ll still buy Gucci!”

“But the application will make it possible for us to have an economic community. It’s all about blacks gaining ecominic power”.

“At some point there has to be some kind of fight. I feel like we’ve done a lot of marching. It’s time to start charging.”

On Biggie’s death…

“I haven’t dealt with any of that yet. I try to get into it, but.. that’s something that just hurts so bad. That’s a time that’s still suppressed.”

On his project with JAY-Z…

“We’re into psychological warfare. The difference is, we’re not trying to hurt nobody.”
