No, say it isn’t so….. The MOBO UnSung Tour has come to an end! Last night marked the final stop on the tour and it definitely closed with a bang. We all know live performances truly define an artist’s potential star power. So, with that in mind, together with ILuvLive, BBC Radio 1xtra, HTC, PRS For Music Foundation and the Arts Council, we carefully curated a tour to highlight 2015’s best of what’s next – artists who are on their way to stardom.
We offered the amazing opportunity for the 10 finalists of the 2014 MOBO UnSung competition to embark on this journey with us as we hit the road for a memorable tour. MOBO UnSung champions Mic Lowry shared the spotlight on stage with Blizzard, Tiana Major, Eyez, Mic Lowry, J The Exodus, Geovarn, Hayley May, YJ and One 50, as they rocked the capacity crowd across carefully selected venues in Brighton, Bristol, Liverpool, Manchester, Birmingham, and London between 11th and 17th May. Also, this year the MOBO UnSung platform continued to expand as BBC Radio 1Xtra handpicked support acts from each city to join the UnSung finalists on tour.
Our main goal with the MOBO UnSung Tour was to expose new artists and music to a wider audience. With the phenomenal feedback, exposure and support, it would be safe to say that the MOBO UnSung Tour was a major success and a life changing opportunity for the artist’s involved.
