We’re probably all familiar with the struggle of going to a festival with a bunch of your mates and halfway through you’re suddenly lost and the impossible task of trying to locate each other begins.

Well, fear no more as a new company is touting a brand-new app which boasts “the most advanced long-distance tracker”.

The LynQ tracker, currently in the pre-crowdfunding stage on IndieGoGo, can track up to 12 people within a broad 3-mile radius, and works without phone signal or wifi.

So if your friend heads to the toilet mid-gig or gets lost in the midst of trying to get some food, the LynQ tracker will help you track them – avoiding those dreaded festival horror stories. While some have praised the idea, others have pointed out the eerie similarities with Black Mirror episode '‘Arkangel’, in which parents track their children’s whereabouts using a brain chip.
