As you know, Somerset House Summer Series is right around the corner. Offering a vibrant festival atmosphere to the very heart of London, whether you’re into soulful sounds or synth-soaked funk-pop, Somerset House Summer Series offers a live experience unlike any other. So, as we gear up for the start of this year’s festivities, here are the sets we’re most excited to see – from artists we’ve seen multiple times before to spotlighting the best up-and-coming performers, hopefully this guide will entice you to join us at one this year’s most highly anticipated music events.

The Internet

There’s no better way to start Summer Series than with the sweet, sultry sound of The Internet, a collective of five musicians with an effortless swagger and some of the best neo-soul we’ve heard for years. The multi-talented five piece will also be joined by rising British rapper Sam Wise.

NAO

Nao’s confessional and lusciously leftfield soul-pop is the perfect fit for a singalong Summer Series sunset. The MOBO nominated artist will most likely treat audience members to impeccable renditions of cuts from her highly praised LP’s For All We Know and Saturn.

Sons of Kemet

You can only expect an amazing set from this MOBO Award-winning Jazz collective. Sons of Kemet, featuring saxophonist Shabaka Hutchings, sit at the forefront of a new generation of London musicians upending expectations by introducing their own forms of irresistible polyrhythms and restless melodies. To make their set even better, they will also be joined by multifaceted artist DJ Noss.

Jacob Banks

Most may not know but Jacob Banks got his start as the winner of our 2012 MOBO UnSung regional competition in Birmingham. He’s since gone on to achieve great success, especially stateside. Possessing one of the most talked about singing voices right now, a raw, expressive baritone, you can only expect greatness during his set at Summer Series. Jacob Banks will also be joined MOBO nominated artist RAY BLK.

Soulection

A radio show, independent music platform and artist collective founded in LA in 2011, Soulection has broadcast its vision of progressive music to bring together hundreds of thousands of supporters worldwide. Marking their welcome return to London, Soulection will bring together a very special line-up exclusively for Summer Series. Guest artists DJs Sango and Xavier Omar will share the stage for the first time in way too long. Two up and coming young artists, Londoner Zilo and Nigerian vocalist Tay Iwar, will perform live sets, while Joe Kay, Andre Power and Shaka Lion are on the decks all night long. What more could you ask for?
