The nominations for this year’s AIM Award are here, with Stormzy, Dave, Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds and Jane Weaver leading the field this with three nominations each. Sampha and Little Simz follow with two nominations each. The nominees were announced this morning at a launch event at House of Vans in London, which included a performance from rap collective 67.

Big winners last year included Stormzy for the ‘Innovator Award, whilst this year he is up for Most Played New Independent Act, Track Of The year 'Big For Your Boots' and Album Of The Year for his number 1 LP Gang Signs & Prayer, which is among the names up against Giggs Landlord and Childish Gambino’s Awaken, My Love!

Dave also scored nominations in New Independent Act, Track Of The Year for 'Wanna Know' and Breakthrough Of The Year.

The seventh edition of the awards ceremony for the indie sector will take place on September 5 at the Brewery in Clerkenwell.
