Black Panther is killing it at the box office, having netted an estimated $361 million in its opening weekend.

The Marvel superhero flick took over $218 million in America over the United States’ four-day long Presidents Day holiday weekend, and is estimated to have taken another $169 million overseas. That’s a global take of $361 million, or £257.6 million.

Its $218 million domestic income makes it the fifth biggest opening American opening weekend for a film ever, and the highest debut for a February film. Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Star Wars: The Last Jedi, Jurassic World and Marvel's The Avengers rank just slightly higher than Black Panther for all-time opening weekends at the box office.

The film, which has garnered rave reviews online and scored a rare 100% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, is, as projected by ComScore, set to rake in a final total of $387 million in its first weekend, which would make it the top-grossing film by a black director (Ryan Coogler) and featuring a predominantly black cast. The previous record for this was held by Straight Outta Compton, which comparatively grossed $214 million worldwide in 2015, across its entire release.
