After a very successful run in 2017, We Are FSTVL returned to open its gates again in 2018 to celebrate dance, house, techno and grime. Located in Upminster, the three-day festival marked the beginning of festival season and a vibrant summer full of music. So, let's get it started!

THE JOURNEY

I was born and raised in Germany, so travelling to Upminster was a new experience for me. Travelling by tube was a solid one-hour journey, which went by quickly, especially since we had other festival-goers on the tube to get us excited for the day’s events.

When we arrived at Upminster station, free coaches were available to bring the crowds to the festival area in a quite comfortable and pleasant way.

THE PERFORMANCES

As sun burns and temperatures increased, the people got excited to celebrate music.

Whilst the main stage was well attended and the atmosphere ecstatic, in the afternoon the grime stage awakened as the sun went down. Set alive by Big Shaq's legendary performance of 'Man's Not Hot', which got countless reloads, as well as sets from P Money, Mostack, Hardy Caprio, and more, the crowd was also treated to a legendary performance from MOBO Award-winner Lethal Bizzle. He hit the stage in his unique and energetic way, stunning the crowd with a show-stopping performance.

HOSPITALITY & GETTING HOME

The variety of food was nothing less than top-notch! The possibility to get food from all over the world (if you have the suitable budget) boosted the positive and peaceful atmosphere at the festival. The venue was full of people enjoying the music, sun and chilled drinks, spreading joy and good vibes.

After a long day at the festival, there is nothing more desirable than a fast, convenient transport home. And surprisingly, this was possible.

Considering the huge amount of people leaving the area, a five-minute wait for the coach to Upminster seemed almost ridiculous.

On the way back home, I couldn’t help but reflect on the amazing time I had. Considering this was my first UK festival experience, I had great expectations for WE ARE FSTVL. Thankfully, it delivered everything I hoped for and more.

Tickets for WE ARE FSTVL 2019 are on sale now, so I suggest you grab them now before you miss out on an epic summer experience.
